European DNS: where the NorthDNS infrastructure runs
NorthDNS is a European DNS provider: nameservers, HTTPS edge, email and control panel on servers in Italy and the Netherlands, operated from Italy.
Why a European DNS provider
DNS decides where your website, email and services go. Choosing a European provider keeps the infrastructure and the operator inside the European Union, under a contract governed by Italian law and the GDPR.
Where services run
| Service | Location |
|---|---|
Nameserver ns1.northdns.it | Amsterdam, Netherlands |
Nameserver ns2.northdns.it | Milan, Italy |
| HTTPS edge (proxy and tunnels) | Amsterdam and Milan |
| Mail server, webmail and mailboxes | Amsterdam, Netherlands |
| Control panel and database | Milan, Italy |
Third-party providers
Some supporting functions use external providers, some based outside the EU: Cloudflare for delivering the public website, Purelymail for the service’s transactional email and Stripe for payments. The full list, with purposes and data, is on the providers and subprocessors page.
What it offers
