NorthDNS DNS REST API

Automate zones, DNS records, rules, analytics, caching and webhooks with the NorthDNS v1 API and domain-scoped tokens.

Base URL

The API uses JSON and is available at https://northdns.it/api/v1. Availability depends on the domain’s plan; it is included during the open beta.

Authentication

Create a token from Account → API tokens. Limit it to one domain, grant only the permissions you need and set an expiry date. The full token is shown only once: revoke it immediately if it is exposed.

Limits and permissions

Requests are limited to 120 per minute. Available permissions are zones:read, dns:read, dns:write, rules:read, rules:write, analytics:read, edge:read, edge:write, webhooks:read, webhooks:write. Every change appears in the domain activity log.
