Cookies and local storage
NorthDNS does not use advertising or profiling cookies and does not load third-party analytics scripts. It uses the following first-party technical storage, necessary for security or requested preferences.
| Name | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|
connect.sid | Session, CSRF protection, authentication, and security messages. | Up to 14 days |
northdns_locale | Selected language. | 1 year |
northdns-theme | Light or dark theme in localStorage. | Until removed |
northdns-cookie-notice | Remembers dismissal of this technical notice. | Until removed |
Webmail
When you open the separately hosted Roundcube webmail, mail.northdns.it uses strictly necessary session, authentication and interface-preference cookies. They keep the mailbox session active and remember the webmail interface; they are not used for advertising or cross-site profiling.
Server-side service metrics
Operational and private-beta statistics are calculated on NorthDNS servers from DNS and proxy counters. They do not read or write browser identifiers, are not used to follow users across websites or devices, and are described in the Privacy Policy.
Consent
Prior consent is not required for strictly necessary technical storage. Closing the notice does not authorise profiling or marketing. If NorthDNS introduces a non-essential tracking technology, it will remain disabled until an explicit and revocable choice is provided.
External services requested by you
Google or GitHub sign-in and Stripe checkout redirect to the selected provider. Cookies on their domains are governed by their policies and are not set merely by visiting NorthDNS. Cloudflare may use strictly necessary network-security mechanisms when delivering the public website.
Removing local data
You can remove cookies and localStorage through your browser settings. Removing the session signs you out; removing language or theme restores its default.
